Publication Ethics
The International Journal of Quantum Computing and Artificial Intelligence (IJQCAI) is committed to the highest standards of publication ethics, integrity, and transparency in scholarly communication. Our policies follow the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Core Practices, ensuring responsible practices by authors, reviewers, and editors.
1. Originality, Plagiarism & Data Integrity
All submissions must be wholly original and not published or under review elsewhere. Proper citation is required for any reused material. Plagiarism or data fabrication, falsification, or manipulation are strictly prohibited and will lead to immediate rejection or retraction Authors are expected to retain and, if requested, provide raw data and analysis details for at least five years post-publication to support reproducibility.
2. Authorship & Contributor Roles
Authorship must meet IJQCAI and COPE criteria: significant contribution to conception/design, drafting or revision, final approval, and accountability All authors must agree to be listed; guest or ghost authorship is not permitted . A detailed author contribution statement is required with each submission.
3. Conflict of Interest (COI)
Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial, professional, or personal relationships that could bias the work. COIs are published alongside accepted articles to maintain transparency.
4. Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools
IJQCAI recognizes the legitimate use of AI (e.g., for language editing or data analysis), provided it is transparently documented . AI tools cannot be listed as authors since they cannot take responsibility or meet accountability standards.
Authors must specify in the Methods or Acknowledgements: The name, version, and access source of the AI tool; How it was used (e.g., text drafting, data processing, image creation); The dates of usage; Author verification and correction procedures confirming accuracy of AI-generated content.
5. Ethical Approval & Consent
Research involving human participants, personal data, or animals must be reviewed and approved by an appropriate Institutional Review Board or Ethics Committee . Statements of ethical approval and informed consent must be included in the manuscript.
6. Peer Review & Editorial Responsibility
Submissions undergo rigorous processes overseen by the editorial team and independent reviewers, adhering to COPE flow charts . Reviewers must declare any conflicts of interest and recues themselves if necessary. Editors ensure a fair, confidential, and unbiased review process.
7. Corrections, Retractions & Appeals
If errors or ethical issues are discovered after publication, IJQCAI will act in accordance with COPE guidelines. Minor errors will be treated via published corrections (erratum). Serious issues-such as fraud or undeclared COI-may result in article retraction. Authors may appeal decisions through a confidential procedure overseen by the Editorial Board.
8. Data Sharing & Transparency
We strongly encourage open data in line with FAIR principles. Authors should provide data accessibility statements and links to repositories . Code, algorithms, and methods should also be shared when possible to support reproducibility.
9. Legal Compliance & Permissions
Authors must confirm compliance with copyright, privacy, and data protection regulations. Permissions must be obtained for any third-party material (e.g., images, datasets, tools). Acceptance of a manuscript entails transfer of publication rights under a Creative Commons license, ensuring open accessibility. By adhering to these policies, IJQCAI ensures that published research in artificial intelligence and data science maintains the highest levels of integrity, transparency, and societal trust. Should you have questions about ethical or policy matters, please contact our Ethics Committee via the Editorial Office.
